USA and South Korea join forces to combat North Korea's digital currency thefts

The Department of Homeland Security of the USA and the South Korean government have signed an agreement to jointly develop technologies to combat cyber attacks on digital currency platforms and track stolen digital assets. This collaboration aims to tackle North Korea, the main suspect in digital currency thefts. According to Chainalysis, North Korean hackers stole around one billion dollars in digital currency through defi protocols in 2022. It is said that this country uses the income from these thefts to fund its nuclear and missile programs.
