The preliminary investigations are being carried out by the Fraud Department of the DOJ. Reports suggest that the investigation includes examining the role of Milei and the founders of the project. It is possible that other US agencies like the FBI and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) may also join the investigation. Libra, initially introduced as a token to assist Argentine companies, caused significant financial losses to investors after Milei’s endorsement and promotion. Argentine authorities are also looking into potential abuse of power and fraud in this case. Milei has denied responsibility in this matter, claiming to have only shared information.
