Donald Trump, the President of the United States, promised to turn America into an unrivaled superpower of Bitcoin and the capital of digital currencies in a video speech at a digital asset conference in New York. This is the first time a sitting president has spoken at a cryptocurrency industry-related conference. Trump emphasized his call to Congress to pass ‘innovative legislation to create simple and logical laws for stablecoins.’ He also referred to his plan to establish a strategic reserve of Bitcoin for America. In this regard, Senator Lummis has introduced a bill that, if approved, would allow the government to purchase $80 billion worth of Bitcoin. Simultaneously, Representative Donalds has presented a bill in the House of Representatives that would allow the Treasury and Commerce Departments to add an unspecified amount of Bitcoin to the federal reserve.
