Tron enables feeless USDT transactions on its blockchain. Learn about the response to rising TRC-20 USDT fees and how it affects users.

Justin Sun, the founder of Tron, announced that soon the ability to conduct feeless transactions for the stablecoin Tether (USDT) will be available on the Tron blockchain. Sun wrote in a post on social media: ‘Tron’s feeless transfer feature, supporting feeless Tether payments without the need for Tron, will be launched in the coming week.’ This move comes in response to the significant increase in TRC-20 USDT transaction fees, which according to Tether data, had risen to over $9 per transaction by late 2024. Currently, TRC-20 USDT fees are estimated to range from $3.20 to $6.50, while ERC-20 USDT fees are around $0.40. This increase has led users to complain that Tron is no longer the cheapest option for transferring stablecoins.
