It appears that Syria’s new government is contemplating the legalization of Bitcoin! The Syrian Center for Economic Research (SCER) has presented an ambitious plan to integrate Bitcoin into the financial system of the new Syrian government. This plan includes legitimizing and legalizing Bitcoin for various purposes such as trade and mining. Additionally, a digital version of the Syrian Lira backed by assets like gold, the US dollar, and Bitcoin has been proposed. This proposed plan, utilizing blockchain technology and Bitcoin, aims to provide more stability for the national currency and protect citizens against economic challenges. The plan also emphasizes on the potential of utilizing unused energy resources for Bitcoin mining in a sustainable manner.
