According to Mehr News Agency, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran stated in a letter to the Central Bank that the Central Bank is responsible for regulating the cryptocurrency market exclusively. Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized in a letter to Mohammad Reza Farzin, the head of the Central Bank, that based on the provisions of the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran Law enacted by the Islamic Consultative Assembly on June 20, 1402, the Central Bank is responsible for regulating the cryptocurrency market and determining the authorized conditions for holding and exchanging it. The Central Bank is the sole authority for licensing, regulating, monitoring, and issuing necessary guidelines in this area, including global cryptocurrencies and stablecoins. All individuals and entities engaged in cryptocurrency activities are considered under the supervision of the Central Bank, and their establishment and operations require a license from this bank. The Central Bank will have direct and primary access to all data, statistics, information, and documents of active entities in the field of cryptocurrencies.
