The CEO of Bitcoin exchange, Ben Zhou, announced that the company will make every effort to recover stolen funds. He mentioned offering rewards for the recovery, collaborating with legal entities, and negotiating with the Ethereum Foundation as possible solutions. In a conference on February 22 in space X, Zhou was asked if he supports restoring the Ethereum blockchain to pre-Lazarus group attack on February 21. He replied, ‘This decision is not one person’s. Based on the nature of blockchain, perhaps a voting process should determine the community’s opinion.’ In 2016, after the DAO hack that led to the theft of 60 million Ether, a fork caused the network to split into two chains – ‘Ethereum Classic’ and the current ‘Ethereum’. Additionally, Bitcoin has announced a plan to offer 10% of the recovered funds as a reward. On the other hand, Tether has frozen 181,000 Tethers, and the Bitget exchange will also block transactions related to the Lazarus group.
