According to a report by Zachxbt, a blockchain forensics expert, individuals linked to North Korea attempted to transfer 46,300 units of Ripple (XRP) to a digital exchange but faced failure due to forgetting to include the destination tag. This error, similar to sending a letter without an address, will likely result in the permanent loss of these assets. XRPscan data shows that these funds were transferred to the OKX exchange and due to their illegal origin, the likelihood of the exchange assisting in the recovery of the funds is very low. This event highlights the contradiction between complexity and simple errors in North Korea’s cyber operations.
