According to Whale Alert platform data, one billion Ripple (XRP) tokens have been transferred from unknown wallets to Ripple. The service has recorded four separate transactions involving the transfer of 430 million, 300 million, 200 million, and 70 million tokens. Some Ripple critics see these transfers as a sign of closer ties between this token and Ripple Labs. Others believe these transfers are related to the monthly XRP token reserve release process. However, some users are surprised that these wallets are labeled as unknown, which could be due to incorrect identification by Whale Alert or Ripple’s use of its internal wallets. Ripple still holds 38 billion tokens in its reserve wallets and approximately 4.5 billion XRP tokens in its own wallets. Last month, Brad Garlinghouse announced that Ripple owns over $100 billion worth of XRP tokens, indicating a much higher company value than the reported $11 billion last year by Reuters.
