Morgan Stanley exploring digital currency trading via E-Trade platform

Investment bank Morgan Stanley is considering offering digital currency trading services through its E-Trade platform. According to a report on January 2nd, this initiative is in response to Trump’s government promise to create a more favorable environment for digital assets. Morgan Stanley aims to provide E-Trade customers with direct access to digital currency trading, starting with Bitcoin and Ethereum. To implement this plan, the bank needs legal approvals from the Federal Reserve as it is recognized as a banking holding company. This move could turn the E-Trade platform into a serious competitor for Coinbase and increase access to digital currencies for 5.2 million customers of this bank with assets totaling $360 billion.
