The Japanese company Metaplanet has increased its assets to 5,000 bitcoins through a recent purchase. This new purchase includes 145 bitcoins worth $13.6 million, indicating the strong ongoing buying trend of the company. According to the official announcement, Metaplanet purchased bitcoins at an average price of $93,327 per unit. The CEO, Simon Gerovich, stated that their annual return on bitcoin investments has reached 121.1% by 2025. In total, Metaplanet has spent approximately $428 million to buy 5,000 bitcoins, with an average purchase price of around $85,621. The recent purchase of 330 bitcoins worth $28 million has brought the company closer to its stated goal. This strategy was inspired by Strategy, a company that recently added 6,556 bitcoins to its assets, totaling 538,200 bitcoins. Gerovich mentioned that achieving 5,000 bitcoins is half of the company’s annual goal to reach 10,000 bitcoins by the end of 2025. To finance this plan, Metaplanet has issued interest-free bonds and enlisted Eric Trump as a strategic advisor.
