Digital currency exchange Kraken has announced the removal of five stablecoins, including Tether (USDT), from its trading list for European users. Kraken described this decision as challenging but emphasized the necessity to comply with regulations and provide a better experience for European customers. According to the exchange, spot trading of these assets for European users will cease on March 24, 2025, at 15:30 Tehran time. Subsequently, all open orders will be closed, and European users will no longer be able to exchange these assets for digital or fiat currencies. Kraken is the latest platform, following exchanges like Coinbase and Crypto.com, to take action in removing these stablecoins from its services.
