Hackers used their accounts to promote fake meme coins and scams. Jupiter team warned users against clicking on links or buying tokens introduced on the main account. They are working to regain access to the account. Despite the official account being hacked, Jupiter’s platform’s features using multi-signature are protected, requiring approval from more than one person to access them. Experts estimate that traders lost millions of dollars within minutes due to the Jupiter account hack and promotion of the mentioned meme coin. Simultaneously, the account of Mahathir Mohamad, the former Prime Minister of Malaysia, was also targeted by scammers. Hackers took over his account and used it to promote a fake token with the symbol MALAYSIA.
