Japanese investment firm Metaplanet has raised its total assets to 2,391 bitcoins by acquiring an additional 156 bitcoins. The recent purchase, announced officially on March 3, was done at an average price of 12.95 million yen (85,483 dollars) per bitcoin, costing a total of 2.021 billion yen (13.34 million dollars). Since July 2024, Metaplanet’s bitcoin holdings have increased from 161 to 2,391. The company also declared a profit of 31.8% from its bitcoin reserves from January 1 to March 3. Metaplanet has collected capital through issuing bonds and equity rights to finance its bitcoin buying strategy. To date, Metaplanet has invested a total of 29.83 billion yen (196.87 million dollars) in bitcoin, with an average purchase price of 12.47 million yen (82,322 dollars) per bitcoin.
