India partners with Google and Meta to tackle digital currency scams

The Indian Ministry of Home Affairs reported in its 2024 annual report an intensified effort to combat fraud related to digital currencies. This initiative, done in collaboration with tech giants Google and Meta, aims to fight the growing threat of fraud targeting vulnerable groups. The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center (I4C) has established protocols for direct cooperation with these platforms to identify and block suspicious activities. Google’s reporting and management system has also been connected to combat cyber financial frauds against citizens. This system saved over 16 billion Indian rupees in 2023. The Ministry of Home Affairs has also emphasized training law enforcement forces in blockchain analysis and launched educational programs nationwide.
