Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei, the head of the Judiciary, expressed his reaction to unconventional requests from economic activists during a joint meeting of the branches’ leaders. He criticized linking economic activities to intelligence cooperation, stating that if someone is capable and willing to engage in economic activities, we should not hinder their path with demands for cooperation. Emphasizing the improper transformation of economic actors into sources of intelligence, the Chief Justice stressed the need to facilitate the business environment. Meanwhile, the President recently granted exclusive powers to the Central Bank regarding digital currencies. Previously, the Central Bank had conditioned the continuation of digital currency businesses on full access to user information. Furthermore, lifting restrictions in this area is subject to compliance with all requirements set by this institution.
