Google updates advertising rules for digital currencies in the EU. Companies must comply with MiCA regulations to advertise on Google.

Google has announced that starting from April 23, companies offering digital currency services in the European Union must comply with the regulations of the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) to advertise on this platform. This new policy covers 30 countries including Germany, France, Italy, and Spain. In addition to the MiCA license, advertisers must also adhere to other local legal requirements and be approved by Google. Some countries like Finland, France, and Germany will have a transition period during which current licenses will still be valid. Google has stated that it will warn advertisers before taking action against any violations. These changes reflect Google’s efforts to align with the new regulations of the European Union regarding digital currencies.
