Mike Novogratz, billionaire and CEO of digital currency investment firm Galaxy Digital, has urged world leaders to take action against the Lazarus hacker group in North Korea, responsible for the recent hack of the Bybit exchange. The hack, considered the largest digital currency theft in history, resulted in the theft of $1.4 billion worth of Ethereum from Bybit’s cold wallet. Novogratz commended Bybit’s handling of the incident and strongly rejected the idea of reverting the Ethereum network to pre-theft conditions and hard forking it, unlike the DAO hack in 2015, stating it is not logical in the current ecosystem. Novogratz emphasized the need to freeze accounts linked to the hack and continue down this path. He also called on global leaders to take action against the threat posed by the North Korean hacker group.
