In 2024, the number of long-term Ethereum holders saw a significant increase, while Bitcoin long-term holders faced a decrease. According to data published on December 30 by IntoTheBlock platform, the percentage of long-term Ethereum holders increased from 59% in January to 75% by the end of the year. In contrast, the percentage of long-term Bitcoin holders decreased from 70% to 62% in the same period. Currently, 75.1% of Ethereum investors and 62.3% of Bitcoin investors have held their assets for over a year. Analysts believe the rise in inclination towards long-term holding of Ethereum indicates increased confidence in this asset on the verge of 2025. Moreover, capital inflow into Ethereum spot ETFs doubled in December, reaching $2.1 billion. Some experts have identified possible regulatory changes and new developments in the Ethereum sector as key reasons for this growth.
