Metaplanet Japan has announced the appointment of Eric Trump, the second son of the US president, to its strategic advisory board. Simon Grovich, CEO of Metaplanet, stated that Trump will assist in advancing the company’s mission to expand its Bitcoin treasury. Metaplanet aims to accumulate 10,000 bitcoins by the end of 2025, currently holding 3,200 bitcoins and ranking tenth among global bitcoin-holding companies. Eric Trump also serves as an ambassador for the World Liberty Financial digital currency project, while the US president is introduced as the ‘chief advocate for cryptocurrencies’ on the project’s website. Metaplanet’s shares on the Tokyo Stock Exchange rose by 1.3% to $27.80.
