The popular game Farm Frens, running on the Ethereum layer two network called Base, faced technical issues with the release of its token FREN. In order to restore player and investor trust, the project has presented plans to address these problems. The token was supposed to be available to eligible users according to a snapshot taken on January 20, but the Farm Frens team encountered extensive technical issues in all sections of the Token Generation Event (TGE). These problems included token allocation, accessibility, staking, and even a new mechanism called Frensurance that imposed fees on airdrop transfers. The anonymous founder of the project named Kaizen explained that the main problems were related to token distribution, leading to some users being unable to receive their tokens. The team intended to cover airdrop fees for all users, but tests on the main network were slower than expected, resulting in errors. The project has announced that these issues have now been resolved, and a contact form has been made available for users still facing problems. Kaizen emphasized that these issues were not intentional and apologized to users for the technical issues. The initial token offering was scheduled for January but was delayed after Telegram’s exclusive agreement with the TON network was announced. As per this agreement, all games or blockchain-based programs on Telegram must be transferred to the TON network. As a result, Farm Frens altered its roadmap and decided to develop an independent wallet and expand to other platforms like the Line messaging app, popular in Japan. The project aims to launch a new season of in-game content in the second quarter of the year. Meanwhile, the FREN token price has dropped by 4.5% in the past 24 hours to $0.000003746, and its market value has decreased to $1.57 million.
