Former sound engineer of Eminem is accused of selling unreleased songs of the artist in exchange for $50,000 in Bitcoin. According to the US Attorney’s Office in Eastern Michigan, Joseph Stringer is accused of selling at least 25 songs recorded by Eminem between 1999 and 2018, which were still in production and never meant to be released. Stringer’s charges include copyright infringement and interstate transportation of stolen goods as these songs were leaked on the internet without Eminem’s consent. FBI investigations started after Eminem’s studio staff noticed the stolen music on platforms like Reddit and YouTube. If convicted, Stringer faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a $25,000 fine. According to the FBI, Stringer sold these tracks to a 31-year-old man from Ontario, Canada, known as ‘Douja Raze’.
