Following a recent hack of Bybit worth $1.4 billion, over $566 million in cryptocurrency market was liquidated in the last 24 hours. This event caused Bitcoin to drop nearly 2% to around $96,000. Ethereum and other major altcoins followed a similar downward trend. The price of Bitcoin decreased by about 2% in the last 24 hours to $96,170, with its price floor and ceiling being $94,852.96 and $99,497.97 respectively. Additionally, $199.44 million in positions of this digital currency got liquidated resulting in its market share decreasing by 60.29%. The price of Ethereum also dropped by nearly 3% to $2,674, with its price floor and ceiling in the last 24 hours being $2,616.92 and $2,842.83 respectively. During this period, $141.76 million in Ethereum positions were liquidated. Ripple (XRP) also decreased by 3% to $2.57 in daily trading, with $14.95 million of its positions getting liquidated. Meanwhile, Solana (SOL) dropped by 2% to $170 and $22.24 million of its positions were liquidated. Dogecoin (DOGE) decreased by 4% to $0.2417, with $14.03 million in its positions getting liquidated, while Shiba Inu (SHIB) also dropped by 2% to $0.00001516. Even meme coins like Pepe Coin (PEPE) and Trump (TRUMP) saw a decrease between 2 to 5%, reaching $0.00009188 and $16.08 respectively. Among digital currencies, Etna (ENA), Bitget (BGB), and Gito (JTO) performed the best with an increase of 11%, 8%, and 5% respectively, while Mantle (MNT), Brachen (BERA), and Sonic (S) recorded the worst performance with a decrease of 15%, 12%, and 10% respectively.
