Ki Young Ju, the CEO of CryptoQuant, has announced that the long-awaited season of altcoins, known as Alt Season, has started, but this time it is unfolding under different rules. According to his analysis, the trading volume of altcoins is now 2.7 times that of Bitcoin (BTC), but this growth is very selective with only a limited number of currencies on the rise. He wrote in a social media post: ‘Without fresh liquidity, this is more like a competition for a fixed share.’ Ju had previously warned in January that the altcoin market is still a zero-sum game and had predicted in December that this season would be strange and challenging. Analysts believe that the traditional pattern of altcoins correlating with Bitcoin has been broken, and digital currencies are seeking independent trends and specific use cases to attract capital.
