The digital currency exchange Bybit, targeted by hackers, has initiated a comprehensive battle against the Lazarus hacking group. By launching a new website to track the wallet addresses of this group, Bybit aims to conduct research in this area with the help of users. In return for reports leading to the freezing of stolen assets, Bybit will pay a 5% reward of the frozen amount. Ben Zhou, CEO of Bybit, announced that this website is the first transparent reward platform displaying Lazarus’ money laundering activities. Users can connect their wallets to this website to assist in tracking stolen funds. Zhou emphasized that a dedicated team is assigned to update this website, and Bybit will continue this work until Lazarus and other malicious actors are eliminated. Moreover, in the future, this website will be available to other Lazarus victims. Currently, 6338 addresses related to Lazarus are being tracked on this website, and so far, $42.3 million, equivalent to about 3% of the stolen assets, has been frozen. This attack, estimated at nearly $1.5 billion, is recognized as the largest digital currency theft in history.
