Tether, the issuer of stablecoin USDT, added over 8400 bitcoins worth $777.4 million to its reserves in its largest move from March to date. This included two separate transfers on December 30: one of 7628.9 bitcoins and the other of 775.6 bitcoins, totaling 8404.5 bitcoins. With this move, Tether’s total bitcoin assets reached 83759 bitcoins, equivalent to $7.75 billion. Tether has announced its intention to regularly allocate up to 15% of its net operational profit to buying bitcoin.
