Aya Miyaguchi, the executive director of Ethereum Foundation, is set to become the president of this non-profit organization, as announced in a blog post on Wednesday. This change comes amidst a period of public scrutiny of her leadership by some members of the Ethereum (ETH) community and widespread criticism of the foundation. Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum, has praised Miyaguchi’s achievements over the past seven years as the executive director of the foundation and added that the foundation is currently restructuring its leadership. Many have called for the appointment of Danny Ryan, a former foundation researcher who guided Ethereum’s transition to proof of stake, as the new senior manager. This decision follows community criticism of the foundation’s lack of transparency and after Miyaguchi’s controversial interview with Wired.
