Argentinian President Javier Milei is facing complaints and accusations of fraud related to promoting the Libra digital currency. The digital currency reached a market value of over $4 billion on Friday but plummeted shortly after. The legal complaint and accusations are brought forward by lawyers and political opponents of Milei, including Claudio Lozano, the former head of the Central Bank of Argentina. The complaint alleges that the team behind Libra, investment company Kelsier Ventures, and its CEO Hayden Davis, in cooperation with Milei, have committed fraud. Milei initially promoted Libra on social media but distanced himself after the project’s issues were exposed. Following these events, the value of Libra dropped by over 96%. A court is expected to swiftly appoint a judge to handle this case.
