In April, the number of addresses containing over a thousand bitcoins has seen a notable increase. Since early March, over 60 new wallets with more than 1000 bitcoins have emerged, indicating increased whale activity. According to Glassnode data, the count of these wallets has risen from 2037 in late February to 2107 on April 15, the highest in the past four months. This surge has brought the number of whale wallets back to the levels observed in November and December. The number of addresses holding over 100 bitcoins has also slightly increased this year, reaching 18026 on April 20. However, the price of bitcoin has broken out of the sideways channel that began in early March, reaching $87400 on April 21. Analysts believe this break of the descending pattern could lead the bitcoin price towards six digits by May.
