Token ZK price falls 15-20% after $5 million hack. ZKsync assures protocol safety.
The ZKsync team confirmed a hacked management account removed around $5 million worth of ZK tokens from the airdrop contract. The attack only involved unreceived tokens and had no impact on users’ assets or the main protocol. This event caused a 15-20% drop in ZK token price, decreasing by about 8% at the time of announcement. The ZKsync security team emphasized that the ZK token protocol and contract remain secure, with no additional tokens at risk. The ZK token, with a total supply of 21 billion, was launched in June 2024.
