Gianni Infantino, the president of the International Football Federation (FIFA), announced a surprising move to collaborate with digital currency companies to launch a digital currency named ‘FIFA Coin’. This digital currency, leveraging FIFA’s powerful global brand, will benefit from the $170 billion football industry and its 5 billion fans. Infantino made this announcement on Friday at a digital currency meeting at the White House. He expressed FIFA’s keen interest in developing FIFA Coin, starting the project from the United States. Infantino invited attendees to assist FIFA in this project, acknowledging his lack of expertise in this area. He stated, ‘If anyone here is interested, collaborate with FIFA. We are here in the United States and will unlock the world of football with FIFA Coin.’
